I am in the process of getting married to a Spanish citizen and we are waiting for our marriage papers to process in order to sign them which hopefully should be in the beginning of May.
My 180 day period re-newed on Feb 19th, giving me until May 20th to stay in the country legally, however by that time I will already be married. However, I have been doing tons of reading on how to obtain a residency card and the application process, and my question is, after we are married and my tourist visa expires, can I stay in Spain legally? Can I get a travel parole or return permit if I visit the US and come back? If I don’t leave Spain at all, does that affect my application for a residency card? As you can imagine I don’t want to be separated from my future husband. What are my options? Thanks!
